About Imani Wild

Thoughtful safari design, shaped by experience and intention.

Imani Wild creates private African experiences for travellers who want more than a standard itinerary. We design with care, restraint, and a deep respect for the way Africa unfolds.

Exceptional travel begins with understanding the person behind the journey. The places matter, but so do the people, the pace and the moments in between.

We don’t believe in rushing people through places, or building itineraries around templates. We believe the best experiences begin with listening.

Your pace. Your preferences. Your reason for travelling. These are the details that shape everything.

From private safaris and remote wilderness to coastal escapes and meaningful family travel, each experience is designed to feel effortless while remaining completely intentional.

The Name

The meaning behind Imani Wild.

Imani means “faith” in Swahili. The word has its roots in the Arabic īmān (إيمان) — faith or belief — and for us it speaks just as strongly to trust: trust in the journey, in the people who shape it, and in the extraordinary places that make Africa unforgettable.

Travel is more than choosing beautiful lodges or destinations. When the right places, experiences and people come together naturally, Africa can be experienced with depth. That is the belief behind journeys designed to feel private, seamless, personal and meaningful.

Our Approach

We begin with you, then shape Africa around the experience you want.

Personal

We begin with who you are, how you like to travel, and what this experience means to you.

Considered

Every lodge, route, pace, and transition is chosen with intention, not convenience.

Soulful

We believe Africa is best experienced slowly, with space for stillness, connection, and wonder.

With nearly four decades of professional experience and a lifetime of travel across Africa and beyond, Stuart brings a deeply personal understanding of meaningful travel to Imani Wild.

His relationship with African travel began while training as an accountant in the late 1980s, when he travelled extensively through Southern Africa. After qualifying, his corporate career brought responsibilities across multiple African countries and frequent travel to Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. Alongside that work, exploration, photography, wildlife and immersive cultural experiences became enduring passions.

Time living in Nairobi deepened his exposure to safari culture, wildlife photography and conservation-led travel. His journeys have ranged from remote camping and self-drive exploration to luxury safaris across East and Southern Africa: the Great Migration crossing the Mara River in the Maasai Mara, elephants crossing the Zambezi with their trunks above the water, predators in the Greater Kruger, flamingo-filled Rift Valley lakes, the Okavango Delta, Namibia’s deserts, Lake Turkana and Victoria Falls.

His travels beyond Africa have included France, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States. Those different perspectives inform his approach to Imani Wild: bespoke journeys that feel immersive, seamless and memorable, creating lasting memories and a more meaningful connection to the places and people encountered.
